Hello from Gainesville, GA!
I’ve been at the Adventures in Missions campus for just about a month now. The first two weeks I was here were leadership training and racers arrived about two weeks ago. This meant I got to meet our squad and my team of girls for the first time! So much has happened since being here, the Lord has been doing so much in me personally and has shown up in crazy ways throughout our squad already! For this blog, I thought I’d share my top seven reasons I’m here. The real reason. What my “yes” to the Lord really looks like. So, in no particular order, here you have it…
1. Catherine
2. Becca
3. Chloe
4. Libby
5. Hailey
6. Miranda
7. Obedience
I purposely saved obedience for last because this is the reason that got me here. Ultimately, I said yes to alumni leading because I knew this is what the Lord was asking me to do after my own race. Originally, back in Cambodia, I said yes to the Lord just to obey him. But once I gave Him my initial yes He stretched it more and more as time went on. When I applied to do this, my reason was not just to obey but because I realized my passion for this time and for this age group. Each day I’m here, the Father so kindly reveals another piece of why He brought me here. It’s like I’m opening a gift bag, with so much tissue paper that you never actually know when you’re going to get to the bottom of the gift. That’s what this season is like one big ole gift bag. Each day I choose to step out in obedience and walk in what the Father is asking me; I get to unwrap more and more of His gift. Each day He stretches me and asks me what I’m saying yes to. And honestly, the cost of discipleship isn’t easy but it’s so stinking worth it. As soon as the racers showed up and I met this team of girls the Lord so kindly said to me “this is it, this is why I brought you here”. After being obedient to the Lord, these six girls are the ultimate reason I’m here. I’ve only known them for two weeks and every single day the Lord not only pushes me in how He’s asking me to lead them but He also teaches me something through each of them. As much as I have to give away to them, He has just as much, if not more, for these girls to give away to me.
So yeah, that’s why I’m here and I honestly couldn’t have asked the Father for a sweeter season than this. It’s truly an honor to be here.
