Hello!

Since being home, in Oregon, I’ve honestly been avoiding doing anything on this blog or even thinking about the race. It’s been a lot to process and hurts my heart every time I think about it. However this morning I woke up and the Lord pushed me into the harder places and even though I was hesitant to sit down and think about the race He gave me an overwhelming peace. I think putting these pictures together of Cambodia was something I needed to do to feel all the things and push towards processing. So please enjoy some moments and faces that I hold so close to my heart and stay tuned for more updates to come as I continue walking through this transition!

The roof was definitely my favorite spot to be at.

This was a day in class that I will forever hold so close to my heart. Behind that notebook is my favorite kiddo, I learned so much about love and joy from him. This day he kept saying I love you over and over and over so I taught him how to write it. He was so happy to learn and loved drawing the hearts more than anything. Honestly, he was my favorite kid from day one. This day was special because I finally got to see it click for him, from that day on he actually knew who I was and would run up to me. It began to feel like a real friendship.

Village ministry was always so special. The last picture above we were eating beetle larva that they treated us with!

Have you ever binge-watched all of the Santa clause movies on a phone with your best friends right after you flooded the apartment? 10/10 recommend.

Welcome to our Christmas card!

We had the privilege of doing a Christmas skit for the students and their families. Mainly Buddhist families that got to hear about the birth of Jesus translated in Khmer. A special night!

Christmas in Cambodia was a holiday I will never forget.

Saturdays were for painting the schools with the girls.

The sweet woman in the middle didn’t speak any English but tried all night to teach me a traditional Khmer dance.

I’m convinced that tuk tuks are the best form of transportation.

Hello and welcome to the Carly Miers fan club!!

sometimes your teammates leave their laundry out to dry and well… you can see what happened next.

Angkor Wat!

You can always count on Brittney Dean to stay behind on an off day to take care of you while you have a parasite and make sure you eat somehing. Too blessed by her friendship.

Cambodia was extremely challenging but there are too many good memories from that place. Missing Cambodia and the friendships we built there every single day.

With love, Cass
