Hi all I’m Callie Newman. I was born in Colorado and lived there for 16 years. I now live in Florida. I am 19 years old and will be turning 20 six days before this trip! When I moved to Florida I convinced my mom to open a bakery and we opened a bakery a year and a half ago. I work there full time as the manager. I also go to school full time and I study retail management.
I was baptized Catholic as an infant but I never went to church after my grandma died. So I never truly understand who God was or what Jesus Christ did. When I moved to Florida I was brought to a church by a friend and everything finally made sense to me. I finally understood what Jesus did. I finally understood what salvation in Him meant. It was like a glass wall I built up finally came down. I was baptized a month after my first attendance to church. I have dedicated my life to living on missions and living for His glory. I have been praying about this trip for about two years and finally felt like it was my calling to go. I took a leap of faith when I applied for this trip and it has really opened my eyes on how to rely on God because He will always provide. I have already learned that I need to rely on Him in every part of my life, it doesn’t matter if it is a very busy season or a slow season I should rely on him in every aspect of my life.
