Happy Birthday to me. I am leaving for World Race training camp tomorrow, what a great way to celebrate my birthday!
Thank God for good rain gear, looks like I am going to need it. We will be camping for ten days, all in the rain. The weather looks awful but I suppose it will be good to get used to the weather in Ecuador and Guatemala.
What is training camp all about? During camp, we learn more about our route, what to expect on the race etc. etc. Camp provides us the chance to get prepped spiritually and physically.
It also give us the opportunity to practice a bit….I need to cram 9 months of stuff into the backpack (in the picture) when I ‘launch” in September. Not sure how that is going to work – it was tough to get ten days worth of stuff in there for training camp. I am a simple guy, I don’t know how the girls on the race are going do it.
