As early as my Sophomore year, I felt a calling to do something other than pursuing a post-secondary education directly following my final year of high school. I didn’t want to confuse a practice accepted by our society as the “right way” with God’s will for my life. So I began to seek after God’s will for my future.

While I began to think and pray about it more and more, my family had the opportunity to host a missionary native to India for a week. His visit instilled a lasting desire within me to share the gospel in India. When I was asked what I wanted to do after high school, I would respond—partially in jest—that I wanted to go to India, and not to college. But this truly was a passion that I had.

Starting my senior year, I began to pray that I would accomplish God’s will in the upcoming year. If His will was for me to share the gospel in India, though, I asked that He would show me a way to get there. It was at that point that I heard about this program.

And while I don’t believe the World Race Gap Year program to be perfect by any means, I know from Romans 12:2 that God’s will is.

A big way that I can be transparent with those supporting me on this journey is by being honest about my giving needs. I currently have around $7,500 of the $16,600 required for this trip. It would be inexcusable for me to ask anyone to make a financial sacrifice without first sacrificing what I have.

For this reason, I’ve set aside basically all of the money that I’ve been blessed with throughout my life. Additionally, I add to this total 90% of all money I receive from my paycheck (while tithing the remainder). I don’t bring this up to boast, but as a demonstration of my commitment to this cause financially and my genuine need for financial support.

Please prayerfully consider donating and continue to keep me in your prayers!
