To my family & sweetest friends! I have some of the biggest and best news, and I need your help!
The World Race hosted a video contest through social media with the theme of “So I Go!” A sweet friend of mine led me to it and said “You should do this!” But ya’ll I’m not exactly a video editor, camera man, sound engineer, or any of the other things I may have thought I needed to be to do this. But I do have words to share with the world, many memories and moments from my first month in Indonesia, and a heart on fire for Jesus! Turns out, that was actually all I needed!
That being said, my video + the spoken word I narrated behind it, made it as a “finalist” for the contest! WOO HOO & PRAISE THE LORD! The first place winner will receive $500 which would go right towards my fundraising goal! I still have just around $6K to raise, so this would be a huge dent in that. THIS is where I need your help to make this possible!
“Voting” for each of the 3 finalist videos ends this Friday, February 14th, at 5PM. Every like, comment, and share of my video from the original post on The World Race social media pages will count for 1 vote each! So you can essentially count for 6 votes if you do this on both Instagram and Facebook!
You may be thinking “I don’t have either platform though, Angelica!” That’s okay too! You could still share the links with your children, friends, or family and ask them to show the video some social-media-love on your behalf!
At the end of the day, it is the message of the Great Commission that I am hoping people hear through my written words, narration, and storytelling through the moments from this first month. If this is just about a contest, it would be useless. But it’s about Jesus, and about encouraging others to “GO and make disciples of ALL the nations!”
Last night, a fellow squad mate was chatting with one of her Muslim friends via video call. Upon my saying hello and introducing myself to her across my squad mates phone screen, she said “Wait! Are you Angelica that made the ‘So I Go’ video?! I loved it!” Someone of a completely different faith than my own was watching this video in another country; just because it had been shared across a social media platform. The Good News was impacting someone’s heart and touching their life in a way only the Lord could orchestrate! It honestly blew my mind in the most beautiful way.
