God is so good he brought us to Romania safely and gifted us with absolutely amazing ministry hosts. The Costea family is absolutely beautiful their passion for the Lord and for spreading the gospel locally and internationally is next to none.
These are our leaders, Raul and Anna. Raul is so passionate about truly hearing God‘s voice in every part of the ministry to make sure that he is moving his project in the direction of the Lord. It is so amazing how much knowledge and wisdom he has about the word of God. He says it is a simple “copy and paste” method but I think he’s really rich in knowledge and understanding. He is the reason this blog post is titled Mama Mia. When the spirit moves him that’s his first saying, “Oh Mama Mia”. Anna is an evangelist for Christ, she is so bold and an amazing example of what a woman after Christ’s heart looks like. She is very passionate about people, about their stories and building relationships with them. She is so tender and loving and for me I strive to be as bold as Anna in her declaration of Christ to the nations.
Raul and Anna are truly an amazing couple for Christ. Here in Craiova, Romania they have been brought the what is known as the “graveyard” for pastors and missionaries. In southern Romania there is a spirit of hopelessness and a fear of letting go of the old tradition. This area was plagued with the weight of Communism and war, and this country and its people are moving from living in oppression to having freedom. But how can you live in freedom if you have never had it? Here people are taking the “toe dip” approach to freedom, afraid to let go of the old traditions but wanting to move forward in life. This tug of war happens every day here. And as pastors and missionaries it can be easy to be discouraged because it can feel like no true growth is coming. But we know God is greater than any government system, old tradition, and hard heart. So please pray not only for our team here but the missions team here, Raul and Anna and their family, and the rest of the missionaries. But also pray for the seeds that are being planted, that we might not see the fruit of those seeds but that the Lord would continue to water them. He might use us to water them or the missionaries here, or even other teams that come, but that the Lord would move here and break the chains of the Romanian people.
