Who I am…
My name is Alyson Weaver. I’m 18 years old. My all-time favorite show is “The Office.” I love playing soccer, going on runs, hanging out with my friends, going on adventures, and riding my horse, Penny. IHOP cupcake pancakes are one of my weaknesses!:)
Where I come from…
I live in Wooster, Ohio… right in Amish Country. I was raised in a Christian home. I’ve always been a Christian, but never really took my relationship with Jesus seriously until I was about 16. I attend Pleasant View Mennonite Church with my family. I have five siblings. I have two younger brothers, Shawn and Cody. I also have 3 older sisters, Aliya (my biological sister), Melissa, and Crystal. When I was five and Aliya was seven, we were adopted by our family!
My heart for missions…
Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to serve on the mission field. The summer of 2017, I went on a mission trip with my youth group to a Christian camp in Alaska for Alaska natives. We stayed there for one week. That week, I served as a camp counselor. I co-counseled with someone I consider to be my mentor and my sister! I loved it so much that I decided to go back for six weeks in the summer of 2018! I learned so much about how God can use me and my testimony to better His kingdom, and even discovered some of the spiritual gifts that He has blessed me with! I’m super excited to see where the World Race will take me and all the things God is going to teach me from it!
