Hey everyone!!

For all of you who may not know, I have been in Malaysia now for almost two weeks! I will be writing a blog before long about what life is like here, but for now, please enjoy these pictures from Thailand:)

A couple of Buddhist temples our hosts took us to see a day or two after arriving in Thailand

the view from opposite sides of the roof of our hostel

sticky falls with my squad leader, Diana. the waterfalls are called “sticky falls” because the rocks are limestone and create enough traction to actually climb up the falls without slipping.

some pictures from Wildflower home where we did ministry for two months. pictured last are two songthaews – the red trucks that we took to and from ministry every day.

this is my friend Alyson and I. above is the view from the fancy hotel’s stairwell that we got stuck in on one of our adventure days. long story short – we were trying to get to the roof of the hotel (a lot of the nicer hotels in Chiang Mai have gardens and trees growing on the roofs) and decided to take the stairs as the elevator didn’t go all the way up. as soon as the stairwell door closed behind us, i turned around and saw that the door didn’t have a handle on the inside. we ran up and down the stairs checking every floor, only to find that the only door with a handle on the inside would trigger an alarm if we opened it. luckily i had bought a SIM card after arriving in Thailand, and so I called a guy on our squad that we knew also had a SIM card. he arrived about thirty minutes later and let us out of the stairwell. overall we were stuck in there for about an hour. our backup plan was to open one of the windows and jump down to a roof below, and then from there to the ground.

just running up and down the streets outside our hostel in the pouring rain

the 5 pictures above – all taken at Doi Suthep; a Buddhist temple up in the mountains overlooking Chiang Mai. We woke up really early one morning and took a Songthaew up the mountain to watch the sun rise over the city from the temple
