As Americans are getting ready for the Super Bowl, I heard a scary fact.  14.8 billion dollars will be spent by Americans for the big game.  Why as Christians and Americans are we willing to spend that much money on a game?  Not only is it  disheartening To hear that we are willing to spend that much on a game when there are millions of people that can be helped with a fraction of that.  Not really the purpose of this blog just a scary fact around the super bowl.

So whats the purpose of this blog you may ask then, it’s about the big game, and no I’m not talking the super bowl.  I’m talking about the ”biggest game“ our life.  1 Corinthians 9 tells us ‘ Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?  Run in such way to get the prize.  Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.  They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that last forever.’  The crown Paul is talking about in this letter is eternal life.

How many of us are just running the race aimlessly?  If you would have asked me a year ago if I knew where I was going or if I was just running the race of life.  The answer would have been im Just running to try and keep up with ”life.”  Not today I know exactly where I’m going and why I’m running the race.  Speaking figuratively I was sitting on the sideline of the big game, I was chasing the trophy that wouldn’t last.

Why was I sitting On the sideline, why wasn’t I giving my all?  I was broken,  I felt like I was worthless, like the world would be better without me.  I had no purpose, I was struggling to get out of bed everyday.  My life had crumbled down around me, and I blamed God for it.  I thought I was being obedient to God, I had “my purpose.”  I was doing good for myself, then slap in the face my life as I knew it was gone.  I was chasing what we call “happiness“ money, relationship, and belongings.  I was running my race aimlessly.

What changed, what sparked the revival of my heart?  Why do I have a purpose now?  Why am I getting ready to go on this World Race?  What was holding me back?  Short answer to all of those is me.  I decided to stop running my race and to run God’s race.  I stopped worrying about my will, my wants and focus on God‘s will.

Mark 12:30 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”

I went all in on God.  I decided that I need him in my life for the ups and downs.  When you give your all to something you will reap the rewards.  I become the richest man in the world, and no I’m not talking monetary rich.  I received the greatest gift treasure a relationship with God.

While you are watching the game today think about your relationship with God.  Are you sitting on the sideline?  Are you running the race aimlessly?  Or are you all in on your Relationship with God.

So whoever your going for in the big game, remember there is a bigger prize then being super bowl champions.  Take the leap and go all in on your relationship with God.

Please continue to pray for me as I get ready to embark on this journey.  Also please subscribe to my blog to keep up to date on my progress and love for God.  Until next time Love Tristen
