Hey friends! It’s 7am here and I just feel so covered by Him this morning. My team has been living in South-East Asia this last month with our five men on the squad. The month has been filled with lots of growth, adventure, unfamilarness, and an abundance of love. We are unable to share the country we are in due to safety reasons, but it’s become a place that really has stolen my heart just in the last month. We have been living at a Christian college campus that also is a home for orphans. Our days of ministry start and end with worship and a small sermon prepared to share. During our days we have been teaching the students English! It has been honestly a little S C A R Y because I had never done that before. But it’s been so cool to see God work in these unfamiliar moments, and to just fully S U R R E N D E R to Him. Teaching has actually become a great way to get to know the young adults and pour into them, because it’s basically like having a five hour conversation with them everyday. Even that seemed C R A Z Y, five hours talking to one person. But again, God is so good all the time. He has taught me even more to rely on Him when I have no idea where to start teaching, or am feeling tired because let me tell ya, that classroom setting sleepiness is real folks. We have met some good friends in town, and they have been such a blessing. The woman at the store eagerly gives us free stuff like I C E C R E A M when we go into her store. Another woman cooked us a traditional meal at her restaurant for free because she was thankful for us teaching the children English in this country. And on top of all that another asian restaurant we go to always gives us free fruit and soup. All of this was so unexpected but it just shows the heart of this country who so desperately wants P E A C E. The community here is so generous and so full of love. Although it’s illegal to evangelize, we have been intentional at showing God’s kindness and love even if we can’t actually talk about Him to others. It’s been an interesting opportunity to learn more about Buddhism because we are surrounded by many Pagodas, and monks are everywhere. I have loved this unfamiliar month, and everything the Lord has blessed us with. God is so faithful even when we are faithless at times. He pursues us even when we don’t see it ourselves. This month has been full of whole-hearted community. Full of bonfires, games, bryes, worship, movies, and lots of bro time. Anyways, that’s all I’ve got. Next blog will be in Thailand, so stay tuned!
