It’s so amazing how the love of Jesus can affect a child. Let me tell you a story about one of the youngest boys at our care point.
I love little kids, so when I saw Sa-Thu the first week I was excited to love on him and hold him all the time. However that wasn’t the case. This almost three year old little boy wanted nothing to do with any of us. In fact he would have rather played by himself than with any of my team. For weeks he always looked confused, and lonely. But after a month of showing up to ministry we noticed a really cool change in Sa-Thu that clearly was from the Lord. During this time we continued to pursue Sa-Thu. We would play cars with him with our shoes, continue to get excited when we saw him, and gave him a big hug each day when we left ministry. Jesus pursues us each day. He doesn’t give up on us when we aren’t feeling wrapped in His love all of the time. He continues to chase us even on our hard days. So after all of this, he started to smile when he saw us. He would run up to us to give us warm hugs, and take daily naps on my lap, which is one of the best parts of my day. His behavior changed completely. There’s no other explanation that makes sense other than Jesus’ love radiating off of my team. This little boy has touched my heart so much. We don’t even speak the same language, but daily I tell him Jesus loves him in his language and I know he knows what that means. There are no language barriers in love. Jesus is so faithful, His love for his kids has no end. I love that about God. He never fails to make His love known.
In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only son into the world, so that we might live through Him. – 1 John 4:9
