Hey! Here’s an update!!!!
Today I set out on my first steps in the journey of the World Race. At 3pm I fly to Atlanta Georgia where I will be met by some of my squad mates I’ve never met in person before. My heart is leaping for joy at this opportunity I will get to share to love, laugh, and cry with these brothers and sisters in Christ. I am flying to Georgia for training camp for the World Race for the next two weeks.
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” This is a profound statement that Paul makes in Romans 13 verse 9. As I am all packed up and physically prepared as far as I know for training camp these next two weeks. This morning I am doing a bit more preparing emotionally and spiritually through reading the word and talking to the Holy Spirit. As I read through Romans 13 this morning God is giving me a few verses to hold onto and walk by as I am at training camp but also in life in general.
God has been convicting me of selfishness. To think of myself first is not to love others as yourself. I am excited to love my teammates these next two weeks upon meeting them as much as God graces me to be able to do so. Another verse in Romans 13 the Lord has given me today is verse 14 which says, “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify it’s desires.” Training camp is going to be challenging physically, emotionally, and Spiritually. Death to the flesh is going to be extremely necessary in this time. I am excited to grow in perseverance and endurance and to meet the people I will be doing life with for the next 11 months.
Please pray for me and my team as we go into training camp tomorrow. For endurance in all areas of life, unity amounts the team, and for safe travels.
With love,
Tay
