“say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”
Isaiah 35:4
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Psalm 23:4
One of my all time favorite worship songs is ‘Not Today’ by Hillsong United. One line that has stood out to me in this season is, “ fear is a liar running out of breath.” Satan is a lot of things but something that he’s especially good at is lying. I think the Liar is running out of breath and he knows that fear is one of the most crippling things he can use against us. The Coronavirus is scary and the overwhelming, debilitating fear is a foothold that Satan now has in our lives if we let him.
Trust me I get it, I currently live in Southeast Asia where is pandemic started. It’s scary, I know, but we can’t let Satan win like that. I’m sorry if this comes off a bit radical but what are you afraid of if you have Jesus? Are you afraid of dying and spending eternity in heaven? I know I’m not afraid of that. My heart breaks for the people that have died and will die without knowing Jesus. That’s what I think we should be afraid of.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
God is still good.
God is still in control.
God still cares about His people.
Even though it might not look like it, He still cares. And even though it doesn’t make sense, He has a reason for this. Trust in the Lord and lean on His understanding. He knows way more then our tiny, dumb human brain does. Pray harder. Pray for the people that don’t know Him.
Don’t hear what I’m not saying. Don’t go licking park benches in faith now. Still be smart and still take care of yourself. Avoid large public places and all that Jazz but let’s not let Satan win this battle because Jesus already won the war.
A little update on me:
Adventures in Missions is pulling out all of the Squad that live in Africa right now due to safety concerns. Once they’re all in the States safe they’re going to evaluate my squad and decide if it’s best for us to go home early or not. It’s still up and the air so it’s not for sure. Keep us in your prayers for safety and contentment with whatever the final decision is. I love you guys! Stay healthy!
