Month 1 Recap:
I decided it would be beneficial if I wrote monthly recaps so that when people ask questions about the Race it would be easier for me to answer.
Ministries:
Beats and Books- kids after school program
Global Leadership Academy- gardening, weeding, varnishing floors in a school and spring cleaning. This is also where we lived for the first month.
UCSA (I don’t know what this stands for so sorry) kids church camp- kitchen duty, refer to my contentment blog to read more about this ministry.
Books of the Bible I’ve read:
1 Corinthians, James, and Job. I have read psalm 139 many many times and I highly recommend reading it if you struggle with knowing your identity.
Times I’ve been sick: zero times baby! Shout out to my vitamin c pills that I eat like candy.
Things God has taught me/is teaching me:
Contentment, I am seen, the Lord is so intentional and I am still loved even when I’m not the leader.
Things I have learned:
I am a professional sleeper
Americans are loud
I can take a shower in less then 4 minutes
I love living in community even when I’m trying to go to sleep at 9:15pm and my squad is screaming in the other room (every night ladies and gents)
Things I wish I had at home that I have here:
FEEDBACK!!! I have grown to love it
I have absolutely loved Africa and all the craziness that comes with it. I’ve lived in Jeffrey’s Bay for month 1 but for month 2 and 3 my team and the boys team are moving to Johannesburg. I am so excited for this next ministry.
If you have any questions about month 1 please ask! I love answering your questions. You can text me, comment on this post, or reach out to me on my social medias. I will try to answer them as soon as possible! Love you guys!
