Q- Are you excited to leave?

A- It’s bittersweet. Of course I am excited, I’ve spent so much time preparing for this and it’s finally here! I’m excited to see how God is going to move over these next nine months and see how I grow in my faith. I’m excited to immerse myself in new cultures and see the world. But at the same time I’m sad I have to say goodbye to all of my family and friends soon. Ugh I wish I could just take everyone with me!!!

Q- What are you going to be doing in each country?

A- Something I really like about the World Race is that it’s a lot of unknown. So honestly, they haven’t told us much about what we will specifically be doing and that’s okay. I know that we will have a very wide variety of different assignments throughout the trip. I can expect to do door-to-door evangelism, children’s ministry, construction, teaching English, and many more different projects. We haven’t gotten our first assignment yet and we probably won’t get it until we are in South Africa.

Q- Where are you going?

A- South Africa, Ecuador, and Cambodia. I know I am going to Jeffery’s Bay, South Africa for the first month but I don’t know where we’re going for the rest of the trip.

Q- What are you most excited for about the Race?

A- I’m excited to see how God is going to work. I’m so expectant for this season and I already know God has big plans for the people in these countries to be apart of the family.

Q- Are you afraid of getting sick?

A- Not as much as I probably should be. I mean its going to happen. I’ve already accepted it. If I got away with not getting sick for nine months IN AMERICA I’d be impressed. It’s going to happen but apart of the money I fundraised goes to travelers medical insurance so I’ll be fine.

Q- Will you wear shoes?

A- Why would I bring shoes if I could be barefoot and save room in my pack? Duh…

Q- Will you kill and eat your own food?

A- I’m not exactly sure but I have seen World Race videos where they did have to hunt and kill their own food. Pray for me.

Q- How often will you take showers and eat real food?

A- I’m hoping I’ll get to take a shower everyday and if you mean American food is real food then probably not very often. I will probably eat rice and beans 80% of the time.
