Guys we are just about 1/2 way through the race!! AHHH that’s crazy!!! I cannot believe we have only 1/2 to go but at the same time we have already lived 1/2! Like for real it is so crazy!

So my team and I spent just under 3 weeks in Botswana. It was such a time of healing and restoration for me. (You can check out my previous blogs to find out more.) We had the awesome opportunity to jump all around Gaborone. Man, what a surprise Botswana was.

Since we were only in Botswana for 3 weeks we got to spend extra time in South Africa! Kate is from South Africa and we got to spend a few days with her brothers and their wives! It was so great to be with her family. We also had the chance to go to her high school and take part in their version of a homecoming weekend. Instead of playing football they played rugby!!! It was so intense!

We moved into a flat for the week prior to debrief. It was so nice having a place to ourselves with a kitchen. I didn’t realize how much I missed cooking. I also think I ate enough butternut squash to turn orange. What a better way to spend our last week as Team Deep. These guys really mean a lot to me and I am so thankful for the opportunity to do life with them.

Hannah

Oh what a Kiwi. I am so blessed to have her in my life. She is always up for the adventure. She is someone who cares deeply about you and takes the time to see you. She loves showing people the way she sees the gospel and it is quite beautiful. She is passionate and so beautiful.

Lindsay

She is so beautiful inside and out. One of the biggest surprises is how funny she is. She is full of joy and brings so much light into my life. She loves Jesus and longs for everyone to know Him. She also loves animals and loves to take millions of pictures… maybe more like thousands 😉

Ronny

He’s my brother. We are so much alike in the way we process things and that is kind of scary. That also means he knows how to call me out. He is spicy (according to him) I would just say he’s sassy. He truly cares about you and how you are doing. He’s also someone who loves deeply and with his whole heart. He tends to wear his feelings on his sleeves.

Hunter

He is full of surprises. He is also someone who is always up for the challenge, especially when it comes to thoughts. His heart is to understand and he tends to be really good at helping me process. He also loves small business. It has been a joy watching him interact with locals over their business and geek out a little.

But for real I love these humans so much! I really can’t imagine life without them.

This month is an all squad month! How sweet!!! Once debrief ended, everyone except for the leadership, took a 27 hour bus ride to Jeffery’s Bay where we would be partnering with Global Leadership Academy. Global Leadership Academy is a school that is part of Global Challenge Expedition (which is the South Africa version of the World Race). So not only is this month an all squad month but it is structured like the scripted routes (YIKESSS). There is a lot of adjustment happening and for the most part it has been pretty fun, so far.
