I am a daughter, sister, and a friend.

I am a college graduate and a missionary.

Wait, who am I?
How did I get to this place of not knowing who I am? Where is this coming from? God, this month was suppose to be different. After all, you gave me the word radical for Indonesia. That means awesome, faith challenging, moments of watching you move in and through me. Radical things that only you can do.
Or so I thought…
Definition of Radical: (especially of change or action) relating to or affecting the fundamental nature of something; far-reaching or thorough (italics added for emphasis). WAIT A MINUTE. I thought this month was going to be a little easier with what you are requiring of me. And maybe a little easier on the lessons too. *side note: When I have I ever been okay with easy? You plan on affecting the fundamental nature of me?! What did I sign up for?
Kylee- “Sam, I miss hearing your voice in the group and the joy you bring.”
My thoughts- “Oh wait, so I am not the only one that can tell that I have not been myself. I know I have not fully felt like myself for a few weeks now but others are noticing too…”
My conversation with the Lord:
Me- “Lord, what is going on with me. Why can I not seem to find you. Why am I not feeling full or being able to rest in your presence?”
Him- “Sam, your word is Radical which means even less of you and more of me. In order to get to the place of being radical you have to be stripped of everything you think you are. You have to allow me to fill you up with who you really are.”
Me- “Oh boy… Okay Lord lets do this. I want more of You and less of me!”
So who am I…
I am a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession… -1 Peter 2:9
I am God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works… – Ephesians 2:10
I am more than a conqueror… -Romans 8:37-38
I am loved unconditionally… – John 3:16
I am an overcomer… – 1 John 5:4-5
I am strengthened… – Colossians 1:11
I am casting my cares on Jesus… – 1 Peter 5:7
I am a partaker of His Divine nature… – 2 Peter 1:4
I am made complete in Christ… – Colossians 2:10-15
I am saved by grace… Ephesians 2:8-9
I am sanctified… – 1 Corinthians 6: 11
Above all else… I am a Child of God… – John 1:12
Who are you…
You are chosen
You are God’s handiwork
You are more than a conqueror
You are loved
You are an overcomer
You are strengthened
You are casting your cares (or should be) on Jesus
You are a partaker of His Divine nature
You are made complete in Christ
You are saved by grace
You are sanctified
You are a child of God
Never forget who you are.
