Dear Friend: “Sam, where is this kindness coming from?”
Sam: “I’m telling you this whole heart growing thing… I’m seeing more than I ever thought possible… it’s like new eyes too.”
I know I’ve mentioned my heart growing in a past blog or two but really it is changing my life. Yes I seem to cry easier but there is so much more. I’ve been learning that when your heart grows you feel more, you see more, and you understand more.
God: “Are you ready for more?”
That was the question He was asking me on March 6th, the first day of debrief in Malaysia. Thinking that He just meant more of Him, more lessons, and more struggles I said yes. Oh, but little did I know what I was saying yes to.
In Thailand the word God gave me was grace. Grace for myself… That was not an easy word nor was it an easy lesson. However, I am so thankful for the experiences and the process it took to learn what it means to have grace for myself. But also to learn that I don’t need to do anything to receive it. To be honest, I was a little hesitant to ask God for my word for Malaysia because Thailand was rough.
The word for Malaysia……
Sanctification
– to make holy; set apart as sacred; consecrate
“From the moment Christ enters within us, we are holy, set apart unto God. This kind of holiness is the same sanctification that made the utensils in the temple holy: holy because they were used in service to the Lord. They had no virtue in themselves; their material substance did not change… But the holiness we are seeking is the fulfillment of having been set apart.” (Holiness, Truth, and the Presence of God by Francis Frangipane)
In the simplest terms sanctification means more…
Not only is my heart growing—feeling, seeing, and understanding more—but all I want is MORE of God. I just want more of Him and more time with Him. I can’t seem to get enough of Him. I have been asking God to allow me to have more of Him. What I didn’t realize is that He would wake me up at crazy hours to spend time with Him. Keep me up at night until I had spent a decent amount of time in prayer for EVERYTHING I could think of. And sometimes if I didn’t read one of the books, He has me reading, before I went to bed I would not be able to fall asleep no matter how tired I was.
Something else I asked for more of was wisdom. What I have been learning is wisdom isn’t something that you just understand and all of a sudden you are wise. Wisdom is the Holy Spirit. I have had multiple conversations with people in the last few days and things just come out of my mouth. Things that I would have never thought of by myself but things that go straight to the core of the issue. These are things that are bringing light to darkness. It is not me. It is all God.
Prayer changes things.
It leads us to obedience.
We are then positioned to have an attitude of worship. This then leads us into the different layers of God’s Kingdom. My King owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10). “He will spend whatever it takes to meet your needs and bless your hands. After all, the One who loves you owns the cattle on a thousand hills, the hills upon which the cattle graze, and the gold under those hills.” (Finding Favor With the King: Preparing For Your Moment In His Presence by Tommy Tenney)
He is unlimited. He just wants to love you and be loved by you. Through His love comes the oil of joy (Psalm 45:7). When we stop and spend time with Him we begin to smell like Him. We are permeated with His anointing.
Below is a link to a playlist I created on YouTube. These songs have been speaking to me and I hope they speak to you. Take the time to position yourself in an attitude of worship. Be Found in His love. Let it be your Awakening. Lean Back into His loving arms. Be prepared to feel it in your bones that He is about to let His Spirit Move! Then finally live for a Touch of Heaven.
