My time in Swaziland is coming to a close in just a matter of weeks. The experiences I have had here have been life changing and the relationships I have made have been strong and centered with Christ. To celebrate my time in Swazi, I wanted to make a series of posts about some of the people who impacted me most while being here. The first is Queen…

I met Queen at Matata while evangelizing for the first time while being in Swaziland. On my way to Matata, I asked the Lord to show me a sign or an image of something He wants me to look for while at Matata. He gave me the vision of a yellow patterned cloth. As we were walking around, I saw this little shop off to the side and I felt the Lord calling me to go inside. Inside this shop was Queen, a 70 year old woman who owns the small shop. And the changing curtain happens to be a yellow patterned cloth. Queen knew decent English and we began to just chat with her about her shop. She told us about her children and her life. She was very open and inviting. We asked her if she knew Christ and who He was to her and she answered with such glee and excitement. She told us her beautiful testimony and we asked if we could pray with her. We prayed over her and she hugged us and told us “we are no longer strangers, we are family.” Ever since that day, anytime I go to Matata I visit her at her shop and she gives me a big hug and calls me her daughter. Queen impacted me because the of the vulnerability she shared with me while evangelizing to her. She told us about her struggles and is so selfless in the way that all she wants is to spread God as well. Thank you, God, for letting me meet such a strong, beautiful woman who has inspired me to preach about You more everyday.
