To start off this update I have to make a small disclaimer: I have never had a blog or written something that everyone can see! I have decided that I am just going to write similar to the way I talk. I want to do this so that if anyone who is reading this that doesn’t know me (and even the people who do know me) can get a better idea of my personality.

This post is just a little update on what I am doing to prepare for next year’s mission trip. First off, I have created a bullet journal. I did this because this is a way for me to express my creativity with fun colors, stickers, sayings, and with my day to day feelings and activities. Secondly, I have created a list of everything I will miss while I’m on World Race. This list is ranges from big things (family, friends, etc.) to small things (my bed, taco bell, etc.). My spiritual leader, Morgan, gave me the idea to choose three things off that list and go forty days without them. This is to show that God is greater than even the small things that I love. I have chosen to go forty days without tea, shopping splurges, and picky eating. I have been doing this challenge for almost a month now and let me tell you… it has been a challenge. For those who know me, I drink at least three cups of tea a day so this was very difficult for me. It has been hard not asking for tomatoes off my sandwiches, not drinking tea with every meal, and not buying that new sweater I really wanted. It might be difficult, but it was worth it. Every time I want to do one of those three things, I read my bible or just talk to God. I have always known he is greater, but actually putting that idea to action has already made me feel so much closer to God.
