Being on an early flight at 6:30, and getting up 4 hours prior isn’t easy to say the least, especially for a non morning person like me. I definitely wasn’t pleased about all the busy lines and grouchy people but i finally made it on the plane. As were taking off in the early morning and i’m staring out the window, i watched the sun rise over the clouds and light the sky with beautiful orange and pinks.

Of course my inner photographer was jumping all over this but as I stopped and took a second to see how beautiful it was, it made all my stress and grumpiness from the morning fade away. I felt peace overcome me and the heavy weight on my chest was gone. Just looking at Gods creation around us in our everyday lives, even if it’s as simple as watching the sunrise. We should be grateful that we awoke to see Gods beauty.

Being able to live a life where i´m able to go out and help our broken world gives me so much hope in God´s plan. God sent his son to die for ALL our sins and his love is so great that he has a plan for each and every one of us that he would lay everything down for us so we should do the same. As God leaves the ninety-nine to go after the one lost sheep, we are encouraged to do the same. (Luke 15:4, Matthew 18:12)

In my devotion today it opened with 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 and it says

¨Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus¨

That verse can’t get any more true. We so often complain more than giving thanks. As it is easier in our flesh to be our first thought. With it being Thanksgiving week we see now more than at any other time of the year people are thankful for their faith, family, and friends, but we shouldn’t have to tell our heavenly father we are grateful for Him on a holiday. It’s so much easier said than done, being grateful to Him everyday and telling him how thankful we are, instead of complaining about our problems.

Mornings like this remind me why i should work harder to tell our Lord, even though He knows my heart, how amazing of a creator He is. When in prayer rejoice and praise Him on what He has done in your life and don´t complain about what He hasn’t done. He has blessed me abundantly and i should take that with a grateful heart and do what He is calling me to do.
