During our 10 days at training camp in Gainesville, Georgia, we talked a lot about this word Kingdom. This was a fairly new concept to me, which is funny because now as I read through the gospels, Jesus is ALWAYS talking about the Kingdom of God. It’s like I was blind to the idea until now.

As Christians our goal is heaven right – live a good and honest life and then you’ll be rewarded with eternity? That’s what I believed for the first 21 years and is why a “Christian lifestyle” wasn’t all that appealing to me. I needed proof that following Jesus was more fulfilling than following my own desires. Where is the hope for now/is there any?

The gospel literally means good news, which means there must be good news for us here and now. The point isn’t to die and go to heaven, the point is to bring heaven HERE. The Lord’s prayer, which many of us are familiar with, says – Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven Matthew 6:10. In one of my first blogs, I wrote about wanting to learn about God’s Kingdom that is yet to come. But the truth is, that Kingdom is already here and it’s right in front of us. The veil has been torn because of Jesus. We have been given full access to God – the fruit, the miracles, and the freedom! Jesus death and resurrection wasn’t just to give us life, but give us ABUNDANT life with Him. We are all searching for something more. Jesus is that more. He’s not a religion but a relationship. The more we get to know God the more we get to know His heart for restoring this earth to how it is in heaven. Unlike most professors in school, God has an open door policy. The cool thing is we don’t just get to know His plan we get to be apart of it! We are now stewards of the gospel and carry Kingdom everywhere we go.

So how are we bringing Kingdom this month?

Today I’m in Granada, Nicaragua with my whole squad [all 36 of us]! We are staying on this gorgeous 70 acre farm with volcanos in the distance. Everyday will be different, but so far in the past two days Kingdom has looked like giving cold water to the locals, playing soccer with some kids, and butchering my Spanish to show love to the taxi driver. Kingdom isn’t this mystical place we don’t have access to, it’s here it’s now and it’s right in front of us!
