Hello to anyone who comes across this, especially my past supporters!
As you may or may not know, a year ago after gap year training camp I deferred my funds from my nine month mission to another trip. Due to COVID and international travel bans the trips I had planned to go on got cancelled. Due to Adventures in Missions canceling all out of the country trips for the rest of the year, they decided to offer a few domestic options. Thanks, God! So, right now I am writing to you from the Wisconsin Dells! I am on a team with 5 young adults and 2 really great leaders who were also pulled off the field due to Covid.
Here in the Dells we are living at a housing building with international students who are on a work visa with Khalahari Resorts! Meaning we get the unique opportunity to live among & build relationships with students from the 10/40 window who often come from countries where it’s illegal to be a Christian and have not heard of Jesus! During the weekends we will be working as lifeguards with these individuals! Having the mindset of showing them how to live out faith in everyday life. We also are working with a food distribution ministry that has had a dramatic rise in need for help because of COVID-19 and its effects on this community. In addition, we are working with Bella Goose/Bridgepoint Church on personal discipleship of my team and I! So as you can see we are in store for very busy weeks here in the Dells!
My team and I have spent this last week that we’ve been here getting to know each other, making our rooms a home, and spending basically every hour of the day together and I already love this community so deeply! Thanks God for placing the right people in my life at Your perfect timing!
Although this trip is not what I would have ever anticipated when I first applied to be a missionary with AIM a couple years ago, God knew all along. His timing is always perfect and I am so thankful he put me here for such a time as this. I look forward to sharing my stories with you all these next few months! How blessed are we to serve a God who meets us where we are in order to take us where He wants us? A God that doesn’t forsake us or leave us alone in the valley of death!! Amen and amen!!
