So I think in my training camp blog I told y’all I was going to introduce you to my awesome team, but I never got around to it which makes now a perfect time to do it! In this blog, I’m going to introduce you to my team and tell you a little about each of them. (Just as a quick refresher/reminder, my team is just 6 of the 22 racers.)
To start with, Aidyn Carnes!
Aidyn is our Alumni Team Leader. This means she went through her own WR gap year journey last year and felt called to come back to help lead and disciple new gappers. She is with us just for the first three months in Romania which is sad that she’ll be leaving, but I am so happy for the time she’s been with us!
Aidyn is an incredible Woman of God! She cares so deeply for other people by always investing in their lives through meaningful conversation. You can either have a very deep, meaningful conversation with her or a lighthearted, joking conversation and both will end with you being glad you went to talk to her! A few extra facts about her is that she loves Harry Potter, is a homebody, and can make a really good bowl of honey, cinnamon popcorn! Here’s her blog link to follow and support her: https://aidyncarnes.theworldrace.org/
Next up is Emi Patton!
Emi has such a fun personality. I think I’ve laughed in the majority of all our conversations together. Even though she makes you laugh, Emi can also go real deep when talking to her. She is vulnerable and willing to share and teach others how she has grown through her experiences in life. She has an incredible relationship with her Abba which I admire and strive to grow my relationship with God like she has done. Some fun facts about Emi: she has a stick and poke tattoo on her knee, LOVES flowers and coffee, and wants to open her own incredibly cool coffee shop.

Moving on to Kylah Umbarger!
Oh my goodness! Kylah is literally one of the sweetest children of God I have ever met! She always has words of encouragement which usually come at the perfect time. Kylah and I got a little close at training camp and being on the field has only strengthened our friendship! She has been the person I’ve turned to multiple times already to talk things out. She has grown so much throughout training camp and month one, and I am so excited to see what else God has for her! Kylah’s fun facts: she always says “it’s my pleasure,” can make a tall bottle of tea last a week, and has a great taste in music!

Then there is Mackenzie Larsen!
Mackenzie and I have very close minds as another squadmate once told me, and I completely agree! She has a passion for loving and teaching children which may play a part in her future. Mackenzie is constantly checking in on her teammates to see if they’re doing good, needing to talk, or anything else they may need. I see her desire to grow closer to God through her deep thoughts and processing when going through her Bible and lessons. A few interesting facts about Mackenzie are that she loves gelato, lives with some farm animals, and has some amazing meal ideas!

Another one of my teams is Valerie Maddox!
Val has a great personality! She is constantly making people laugh and smile. Val is incredibly gifted with the ability to vlog and takes super awesome pictures. She has a really cool child-like love for Jesus and brings new ideas and insights to the table when discussing. If you want to belt out a song, she’s your person to go to! Three fun facts about Val are that she loves theater (Dear Evan Hansen is her favorite), has her own youtube page for her videos, and is really good with kids.

Last but definitely not least is Sumer Furlong!
Sumer is very chill and has a relaxing personality. She is blessed with the gift of thinking things out and things with math. She is also incredible at making videos to promote ministries here in Romania. Sumer and I have had some good conversations over the future which makes me excited to see what God has for her! She would be really amazing at something that combines designing things with technology! Here are a few fun facts about Sumer: huge love for wafers and nutella, she just turned 19, and she shares a love for dogs with me!

So that’s a little insight as to who’s in my team and what they’re like! I hope this helps you learn more about the people I am serving and traveling the world with. As always, thanks for reading and leave your comments below!!
Blessings,
Paige :):)
