Before I begin this blog, I want to explain the reasoning behind it, so here I go! A month or so ago, we were informed about Squad Wars. This is a competition between all 6 gap year routes. It’s fun, competitive, and gets teams excited to complete some work and helps get to know squad mates better. A few challenges have been making introduction videos, completing logistical assignments, and encouraging fundraising. (If you were curious, my squad is in first place! Go X-Squad!!!) The challenge right now is to be writing blogs. The most blogs posted by one squad gets the most points. So with that in mind, my squad mate Morgan thought of this idea: Let’s write blogs about our teammates. We all were assigned a random person if we wanted to participate, and here we go!

I asked Emily a few questions to get to know her and write this blog better. Here they are with the answers:

What is a word you would use to describe yourself to a new person? Bubbly

How did you come across the race? Other people going on the race in her youth group

How has God been preparing you pre-launch? Trusting Him and His plan especially with fundraising

What do you hope God shows you on the race? What I need to see from Him

What are you most nervous about with the race? Not knowing everything going on

What are you most excited about with the race? Meet my squad and teammates

How can people pray for you? Everything works out and meeting fundraising deadlines

To Emily,

I haven’t gotten the chance to talk to you very much, but from the few times we’ve talked, I can’t wait to meet you! From what I can tell, you are taking a big step towards God and really lying your trust in Him. You are willing to help squad mates when they need it by talking through questions with them. You seem to be very creative, especially with your cap for graduation! I’m excited to see your creativity in person. I can’t wait to see how God uses that on the race. He has enormous plans for you and taking this leap of faith is setting them all into motion. You have prepared yourself for the change He is going to show you by having the mindset to expect the unexpected. I hope I can learning from you a little bit with this because sometimes I struggle with not knowing what is going to happen next. I feel we might have a little bit of that in common! So Emily, I am beyond excited to meet you and can’t wait to see how God moves through you! I hope you enjoyed this letter!

From, Paige
