Wellll here goes the first blog of my life, and first of many to come- so bear with me.

For those who may not know, the World Race Gap Year is a 9 month mission trip around the world in which people surrender life as they know it to live a life among the Lord’s people of many tribes and nations. Teams partner with churches and local ministries in those countries to work with orphanages, plant churches, and minister to women and children trapped in human trafficking. In this, hearts are filled and set with the purpose to share the Lord’s hope, love, and light. My team and I will be doing so in Swaziland, Thailand, and Nicaragua.

Now…. Why am I doing this?

Senior year has brought a lot, A LOT, of small talk about colleges and plans for the future. I would give my response inclusive of the few Texas schools I have had my mind on, but these colleges I used to picture myself at began to seem more and more unfitting. One day, I’ll have to figure that out, but as of right now, God has brought me something a bit different for my post high school plans. Through the personal changes I had undergone in the last couple of years, and for the better might I add, I have found that God still has some work to do with me, and in that sense, would like me to do some work for others. I regained my faith, in which it grew stronger, and that brought me to remember that He has a lot of greater plans for me than I could possibly make for myself.

Sitting in the backseat of my friend’s car, I got the acceptance call into the World Race that confirmed all of my questions about if I could really do this. He confirmed I was not in over my head about leaving the only place I have ever lived, and ultimately gave me this to confirm that I am not here to serve myself. He confirmed that although this upcoming journey is something far beyond everything I know or could dream about, that it is where He wants me to be and He will help me be ever present and selfless while I’m there.

NOW here is where YOU come into play.

This thing I’m doing is awesome, not because I’m awesome, and not because I’m traveling, and not because this or that, but because it is an opportunity to grow God’s kingdom, and everything that has anything to do with that is awesome. So really, I’m not even doing much in my own power- It’s all God. He is going to help me, and YOU can help me help others too!!!!

If you would like to keep up to date with the blogs to come as I prepare for this journey, or keep up with all of the great works to be in play when my team launches in September, please subscribe!

While you keep up to date with this, I ask that you please keep my team and I in your prayers! And although prayer is the greatest support I could ask for, if you feel compelled to donate towards the $16,600 to make this trip possible, go ahead and HIT THAT DONATE BUTTON!

Two good ways you can help me help others and spread the goooooood word.

If you made it this far in the read, thank you. I hope you stick around and I hope you consider supporting what great things God has in store!

With love,

Olivia
