One of the most important things you need for your Race is of course…YOUR PASSPORT!

Here’s what you need to do:

If you already have a passport:

  1. Double check that it is valid for at least six months after the end of your trip

    1. If it is, you’re good!

    2. If it expires before then, you’ll need to apply to renew it within a month of committing to the World Race. Some countries will now allow you to enter if your passport expires in less than six months.

  2. Make sure you have 1 blank page for each country you’re going to

  3. Take a picture of the page that has all the information and upload it to the Documents tab on your profile. **Make sure it’s a clear picture in good lighting so we can verify your information!

  4. Fill out all the boxes underneath where you upload the picture

 

If you do not have a passport yet:

  1. Apply for one within one month of committing to the World Race. Visit this website for information on how to apply: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html/

  2. As soon as your passport comes in the mail, take a picture of the page with all your information and upload that to the Documents tab of your profile (see picture above). **Make sure it’s a clear picture in good lighting so we can verify your information!

  3. Fill out all the boxes underneath where you upload the picture

 

EVERYONE will need at least 6 extra passport photos (4 extra photos for Gap Year) for visa applications. These can be taken at CVS or Walgreens and do not need to match the picture that is in your passport.

IMPORTANT DATES TO KNOW:

     Deadline for uploading your Passport – June 16

     Deadline to Apply for Passport (Normal Processing) – April 26

If you do not have a Passport (or one in process) by April 26, you MUST get it expedited (both processing and shipping)

 

When you have your passport in hand check for two things:

1.  You have at least 11 blank pages. (One side = One page.)

 

2. Your expiration date is good for 6 months after you get home from the Race (up to March 2021).

Next, open your passport to the page where your picture and info are and take a picture, or scan that page. Make sure that your name and passport number can be seen very clearly since we will be using this to book your flights.

Then upload that document to your profile under the  “DOCUMENTS” tab that is under the “MY MOBILIZATION TAB”.

THE SOONER YOU GET THIS DONE THE BETTER, DON’T WAIT FOR THE DEADLINE!

And lastly, you will also need 6 extra passport pictures.  These pictures DO NOT have to be the same picture that is in your passport.  You do not need to upload these, just carry them with you on the World Race. You can get these extra pictures at the post office, any CVS or Walgreens.

 

At the very latest, you MUST upload your Passport information and image by June 16.
