Every month I write out in detail what my days have looked like, to remember the small details of what has happened. This blog is going to be similar to that, so this is what a day in india has looked like for me.

We’re only staying at our current location for a little more than a week, but during this time I’ve been soaking up every second.

Every morning I wake up under the pile of blankets I have on my bed and sit up and I see my breath because it’s really that cold here in India (and no heaters in rooms), but I’ve never been so thankful to be cold since I’ve been sweating for the past three months. My teammate and I sometimes go for a run and then head up to the tent where we have all of our meals and in the mornings we have hot chai and cookies (happy happy cookies have my heart, thanks Dara), then I spend time with Jesus, journaling and reading my bible. We have breakfast, my favorite is puri (basically a ball of dough rolled out into a tortilla shape and then fried) with lentil soup stuff and then we head to ministry. This week we’ve been rotating ministry every day with other teams. Our team got the opportunity to go to a Christian rehab facility, which houses around 20 grown men. We were able to lead a devotion set for the men and sing with them. My teammate, Alyson got up in front of everyone and shared Romans 12 and spoke about it,

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present yourself as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”

After Alyson had shared, a man up front asked, “why would God call us anything close to being holy and blameless? We are full of sin, we have no right to be loved by God.” This moment was so clearly divinely appointed. My teammate, Hannah got up in front of the men and shared how the blood of Jesus and His sacrifice for us is what makes us able to be presented as holy and acceptable in the sight of the Lord. This resounded with the men and seemed to clear up confusion. As I’m writing this I realize my words are so insufficient in describing this moment, feeling like heaven was touching earth. Christ was clearly speaking to the men in the room and His presence and love was surrounding us all. After, we sang again and then went outside. We played so many games of volleyball with the men and simply got to have fun with them. We drank tea all together and shared stories with each other. As we left, all the men asked us to pray for them and told us they would be praying for us as well. All of my team headed to the only cafe in the village we’re staying in that has WiFi and told our parents we were alive, and downloaded Christmas music, then we headed back for dinner. I go to sleep here at like 7:30 lol so that’s about it for the detailed day.

Prayer requests: as our team moves locations, please pray for safe travel and for the squad to focus on what’s directly in front of us and not to worry about what’s next.

Also, Christmas is coming up and just send extra prayers and love towards the Miller fam!! & Maryanne I’ll be playing Blue Christmas by Elvis just for you<3
