Why am I going on The World Race?
In this blog I’m going to be throwing out random thoughts.. but it’ll be an answer to the question of why I am going on the world race
To the one who gives the breath into my lungs
To the one who loves me beyond any measure
To the one who hung the stars above the earth but still cares to know me by name
To the one who loved me while I was still in sin
To the one who had his body broken and whipped, strung up on a cross, forsaken by the Father, for me and for you
I prayed about how to answer the question of why I am going on the world race, and the answer came simply: How could I not be obedient in the calling of the one who has done so much for me? How could I not answer the call of leaving my family and friends for nine months in obedience to a God that has blessed me with those very things?
Around a year ago, I felt the calling on my life for the world race, and I knew I had to be obedient. What I have learned that God honors obedience. What he calls us to do is in alignment with his will…and there is no place I would rather be than in his perfect plan.
“Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. “
At first I didn’t feel equipped or worthy to be called into a mission trip… the thing is, I’m not, no one is. But God chooses us in spite of that. It doesn’t matter what God is calling you into. He will equip you to do whatever He has called you to. All he asks of us is to be obedient. He will do the rest.
