Hello blog readers!! I have been praying since I was just a little girl that one day, I would be able to serve the Lord through missions work- ideally, in Africa. My neighbors growing up were missionaries in Kenya for about 15 years and they inspired me to share the gospel with my friends and family in my community. I am from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and I have lived there my entire life. God has grown my love for him and given me a passion for evangelism immensely over the years so I began praying about where he can use me. As I was pondering what colleges I should apply to, I realized that God’s dream for me was more significant than college; he was calling me to serve in Africa. It is a total “God-incidence” (coincidence, planned by God) that one of my mentors was involved in the World race. She shared with me about how I could go to college and take off for one semester to do the World Race: semesters program. I decided to apply to a few colleges and also apply to the World Race: semesters program. I remember thinking to myself that if God wanted me to go to Africa, this would be my open door. I got accepted into the program and continued to meditate on God’s word, asking him if he was calling me to go. I am currently enrolled in college at Eastern University and I am majoring in early education with a minor in missions work. Next semester, I am accepting the call to go and I have never been more clear about God’s calling for my life. I cannot wait to see what surprises God has in store for me as I continue to follow him on my journey to South Africa. Thank you for your support; more updates are coming soon!!

In him, Mikayla
