1. Where is Jesus most evident?

It is so crazy because the Lord is so evident everywhere. I hear Him throughout our days whether we are teaching, ATL, or doing sports ministry. Whether it is through conversations at the base, devotionals, or just hanging out He is so evident. I definitely believe it is because it is a lot of my life here so it is much easier seeing Jesus in everything than I did at home.

  1. Do you miss home?

I definitely miss home but I don’t really have a desire to be back at home. It just feels like the Lord has blessed me with so much that I love Guatemala a lot. I do miss the people but I am okay with not being with everyone. It has allowed me to have so much growth so I am very thankful for the distance right now.

  1. How is the food?

Oh my goodness. I get fed a little to well. I have breakfast at the base, pack a lunch, and have dinner every day. The food is some of the best I have ever had. Plus corn tortillas with every dinner meal sooooo yeah the food PHENOMENAL.

  1. Best new songs you’ve discovered from your friends?

Schoolin life – Beyoncé

Team Unity’s anthem that is all.

  1. Favorite Funny quotes/ stories from your friends

We have an entire quotes list that I will only add a few but

“My mom has an erotic fear of airplanes… wait I meant irrational”

“I just took homeopathic medication for my flu like symptoms”

“Copout”

“Should I poop here or Waffle house?”

“Have you guys heard black beatles in the city it’s really good”

“Do you like that chicken sandwich Lex?”

“I’m the werewolf”

Some funny stories

The time our team went to this chicken place and decided to eat in the central park part. About 7 stray dogs surrounded us and one ate Alexis’s chicken sandwich and followed us all the way back to the van to take us home lol. That is probably the funniest story our team has experienced.

  1. Most epic dance party?

All in room 6 always.

  1. What’s some things you’ve learned that you can help us back home?

I think a really big thing I want people back at home to know is that the Holy Spirit is just as much with you at home as it is with me here in Guatemala. The Lord is speaking to you so much and is walking along side you through everything. All you have to do is reach out, listen, and give a little bit of faith.

  1. What is the medical care like?

My doctor experiences have been very eventful. Doctors here speak English and I get medicine very well and pharmacies everywhere. It is cheaper but I have really only been to the doctors when the English doctors are all gone. So my experiences have been funny but it has been very easy to do by myself.

  1. What is one thing you wish you knew before hand?

I think one thing I wish I knew before the race was that you don’t have to try and pretend to be this perfect Christian because you are going on the Race. Have grace for yourself and take the time as a growth opportunity. Also you don’t need super intense gear for the race. I have barely used most of mine lol.

10. What were your expectations vs. reality on the World Race?

I was going to be roughing it but I actually get to sleep in a bed, get 3 good meals, and get to shower all the time! Thanks God!
