Fifty-five hours it has been since leaving our hotel in Georgia! Words can’t begin to describe this feeling as my squad and I fly from Doha, Qatar to South Africa only to eventually end up in the South Eastern African Country; Swaziland (eSwatini). What it has taken to get here looks like many hours spent on bus, train, foot, standing and sitting. Carrying a 40lb hiking pack, 20lb daypack, and a guitar hasn’t been the easiest task either, but it is so worth it. When we get to our ministry location, I won’t actually be carrying everything everywhere for those wondering (Thank God!).

Bringing my guitar has been such a blessing to the squad. In the many hours spent at bus stops and airports, we have been able to take advantage of the time of waiting and turn it into a time of worship. Also, my squad mates decided to name my guitar “Eilene”. Not sure why, but I guess that is what her name is going to be from here on out.

What these few travel days have shown me is that The World Race isn’t going to be an easy journey. I have given the Lord my “Yes” and committed to something bigger than myself, abandoning comfort and security to serve God and people however that may look. There is absolutely no place I’d rather be and I wait in eager anticipation to see God move in every place we go.

Soon I hope to post YouTube videos of these journeys! I’m new to vlogging/videography, so I’m still learning to video edit and not be awkward (anymore awkward than I already am) in front of the camera. I will let everyone know when my first video comes out! My hope for the next 9 months is to have some consistency with blogs, vlogs, and social media posts.
