I have some exciting news!!! For every donation to my blog this week, (June 24-30) I have a donor that will match every dollar!! Click the orange donate button to have your gift matched today. Keep reading for a brief update.

I recently got back from an 11 day training in Gainesville, Georgia for the World Race! It was harder than I thought it would be; I was physically uncomfortable with tenting and eating different cultural foods, but also spiritually uncomfortable with hearing about Jesus in a different way and feeling myself being molded and refined every day. Those 11 days opened me up to Jesus in a way I didn’t think was possible. I came home with a renewed sense of confidence in the Lord. I now know in my core that He has called me to go on the Race.

While at Training Camp, I learned about an opportunity to dive further into everything I learned the last 2 weeks. There’s a secondary training camp called Kingdom Foundations that takes place the three weeks prior to when I leave for Mongolia in August. The dates are July 7th-August 1st. This is an opportunity to learn more about the core values of the race- intimacy, community, and mission. There will be classes every day over these topics, to help get our minds and hearts ready for the next eleven months. I believe the Lord is asking me to go. Attending Kingdom Foundations means that I would say goodbye to my family and friends three weeks earlier than I planned on. It also means that I have to raise an extra $1,000. So instead of $19,200, I have to raise $20,200. My current balance is $7,590 and I need $10,000 by July 1st to go. I believe Jesus will provide the money. If you feel lead, I’d love it if you would consider partnering with me financially on my World Race journey. Something inside me clicked at Training Camp. My perspective has changed so much, and I can’t wait to tell y’all more about that in future blogs! Here’s a poem I wrote just a few days after I got back from Training Camp! 🙂

When I come home

They will not remember me

I will be a shadow

Of someone they used to know

They ghost of a person

They no longer recognize

They will watch me

With wary eyes

Searching for a sign

That I am not wholly lost

That a glimmer of me still shines

But they will see

That the change was good for me

The parts of me they recognize

Were hiding for too long

And now was their moment to shine

They will see that I am still me

A little changed by time

A little changed by distance

A little changed by the world

And all that I showed the world.

Once a little girl

Who listened to the birds sing

Now a woman of God

Who shows the birds how to sing
