Hello!! Welcome to my first blog post!! I am so excited for what God has in store for the next year of my life and I am so grateful that I get to share my heart and the way that God has and will work in me over the next year.
A few years ago I felt a calling on my heart to GO and make the name of Jesus known across nations. I wrestled with a lot of doubt and fear about what I knew the Lord was calling me to do, and just a few weeks ago I was able to respond and say YES to the Lord’s call.
You might be wondering what exactly this “call” is and I can’t wait to tell ya! I will be going on the World Race gap year program to 3 different countries, on 3 different continents in 9 months. I will be going to Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Thailand and diving into many different ministries whether working with orphanages, sex slavery, evangelizing in the local communities, or simply prayerwalking! While I am beyond excited for the journey and growth I will experience, I am still struggling with believing the lie that I am inadequate and unprepared for what’s ahead.
But, there is NO reason to fear because being in the center of God’s will is the safest place to be and just over the last couple of weeks the Lord has shown me the freedom that can be found when we surrender everything to Him. Surrendering to the Lord for me means giving up the next year of my life, my freshman year of college, the comforts and conveniences of America to see the kingdom brought down to earth.
Surrender is a DAILY act and discipline of dying to ourselves to look more like a God that is so different from us, and it is not always easy, but it is always so worth it.
Luke 9:23-24 says, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross DAILY and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.”
Man am I thankful that this life isn’t my own and that I get to experience the joy in surrendering my life to a God whose love for me is indescribable.
Thank you so much for following me along this journey and I ask that you would pray boldly alongside me that the name of Jesus would reach those that so desperately need Him and that His Kingdom is brought to Earth. This journey is not meant to be taken alone and I will need encouragement, prayer, and financial support, and I believe that my God wants to use YOU right where you are to minister and make His name known right where you are.
If you are wanting to learn more about me, the race, or what God has been doing in my life please reach out and continue following my blog, I would love for you to join me on this journey. Thank you for your support and prayers, they are so appreciated!!
Blessings,
Mallory
