The best way I know how to live each day is by living how the Lord wants me to. The best way I know how to plan for the future is by asking God what He wants for my future. SO that is what I did, and here we are…welcome to my FIRST World Race Gap Year blog!

I will be graduating from high school in 2019 and then leaving the country for nine months on a gap year with Adventures in Missions! I will be going to South Africa, Ecuador, and Cambodia to serve and share the Love of Christ! It’s insane even saying that… the Lord has called me on this incredible journey and I am so grateful. On this blog I will be writing about this journey, experiences, prayers, and what the Lord is doing.

We have all been through different seasons of life. The hard ones, the joyful ones. Everyone has their own stories and their testimonies that come out of these experiences. God teaches us so much in the times of trial and in the seasons of waiting. Currently in this season of my life there is a lot of planning for the future… mostly consisting of praying for the future. Graduating high school, applying for college, deciding majors, deciding minors, standardized testing, all the things. Praying and praying for guidance. The Lord is leading me on a radically different path than I would have imagined a few years ago. The clarity of knowing what God wants me to do when I graduate is so peaceful… most of the time. Other times it’s hard to think of spending nine months away from friends and family and friends who are like family to go on a journey that God has called me to. It is also hard to hear the negative opinions and all the reasons why I shouldn’t do this, but I am reminded that God is working and it is going to be worth it!!! Never thought I would ever take a “gap year” but the calling to work with this ministry is so clear. World Race will take me out of my comfort zone, teach me more about the Lord’s love and joy, and drastically change my life. This opens up the opportunity to serve the Kingdom in new ways by developing relationships with people all over the world. This upcoming year will be full of prayer, fundraising, applications, and preparations and I am so excited. “We must remain bold and adventurous on the faith journey if we want to keep our relationship with God fresh and dynamic. We must never think that we have arrived, for the moment that we do this, we become stagnant and complacent. Instead, we must always fervently seek after the heart of God.” – Christine Caine.

So as the Lord leads me on this journey of bold and adventurous faith I ask you to join me in prayer and encouragement!
