Hola from Guatemala!
- On our first morning here we had worship, in English and a little bit in Spanish. So my entire squad and all of our leaders gathered in the yard. It was an amazing worship experience (I truly feel like that’s where I connect with God best), and the entire time I was wrestling with just feeling so grateful that God got me to this place surrounded by such amazing people and feeling fearful of the when this “high” I’ve been on will end. At the end we sang a song that says “I am gonna build my life upon Your love, which is a firm foundation.” During this song I kept seeing a vision of an old house, and even though there were some cracks and holes anything that fell through only fell to the foundation of the house that was built before the walls or roof were even built. God so clearly reminded me that even if I fall or go through hard times I am only gonna fall into His hands. And truthfully those hard times may even be the times where my relationship with God gets stronger! Thanks God!
- Last night I talked to one of our discipleship leaders, Gabe, and he said something that really stuck out to me. He said “Most people follow Jesus to be blessed, only a few follow Him to be transformed.” And it hit me hard. I seriously thought about it all night. So this morning I was writing about it in my journal asking Jesus to completely transform me over the race and the rest of my life. Then!!! Here comes the exciting part!! At devotions this morning we were promoted to go where we felt God was telling us to go, and I felt like I should go read Romans 12.
