What does it really mean to have your eyes fixed on the Lord?
This is a question that I’ve been thinking a lot about. I wonder…
If we are constantly looking to Christ then we would never be disappointed right? Because we are looking to him and all of our attention is on him and he is fully capable of any and everything.
If we don’t have our eyes on Christ, we are so easily thrown a loop and nothing seems to be going right, because it’s not happening our way.
This is a concept I’m starting to grasp more on a deeper level.
It’s not easy to do this. But it’s incredible to be in a place where all you are is in awe of the Lord and it doesn’t matter what’s happening around you because you can only see Him.
I think that’s similar to surrender. When we fully surrender it doesn’t matter what’s going on around us, all we see is Christ and His faithfulness.
What’s more incredible is when you are in this place, everything seems to be so peaceful and good, even though there are stressors. This is, I think, the true meaning of Psalms 37:4, “delight yourselves in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart”. When we are truly delighting ourselves in the Lord, nothing could possibly be going wrong because we are so fixed on him and his goodness. He knows so much more about us than we do about our own selves. He truly knows your heart and what you want even if you don’t know. And He will never loose sight of that even if you do!
We then, can fully rest in his faithfulness, goodness, and the fact that we can’t control our lives but He has us in the palm of His hand because He is such a Big God.
Oof what revelation.
That’s good stuff.
Continue to delight, bask, and be thankful.
