I’ve been home for two and a half weeks. And they have been crazy. Lots of emotion, lots of loneliness, lots of joy, and so much more.

I want to be honest with you. I never said leaving and coming home was going to be easy. I never said that I wasn’t going to miss people or miss the adventures. But I was following where the Lord was leading and that’s all I can do, isn’t it?

Sometimes I think it’s harder to leave midway and come home. You come home not prepared for anything. You leave with nothing but your pack and your passport. Only one person reached out to talk about transitioning back into this crazy society we call home. It’s tough. 6 months overseas is long despite what some believe. Yes I didn’t choose what everyone else did, but I would be a fool to not listen to my Father in Heaven (James 4:13-17).

But I’m home now. I still wrestle daily, mainly because people share their opinions but don’t give me the time of day to explain how the Lord talks to me and communicates with me and listen to my story. That’s fine. People just won’t understand and that’s been hard to grasp.

To those who have listened and come along side me, thank you. Thank you for at least trying to see it through my lens. And trusting the Christ in me. You are truly appreciated.

Fear of man was a real struggle when it came to my decision. We live in a society where everyone has an opinion and knows what’s “right”. But in a sinful world the only one who truly knows right from wrong is the Father.

But he also gives us another choice.

It’s not always right vs. wrong. There is a third factor, life.

In Genesis, chapter 2 verses 8-9, the Lord planted the Garden of Eden and in Eden were the two trees. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life. You see, the Lord told Adam and Eve they couldn’t eat off of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But they could eat off the tree of Life! Once they ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil they invited “right and wrong” into the world.

The Lord intended for us to have life! We can choose right or wrong but the real battle is whether or not we are going to choose life or not!

If life means unconditional love, justice, mercy, grace, and so so so much more, why wouldn’t we want that!?

Life comes only through Jesus. All those qualities are the Lord! Don’t you see it? He is all those things!

You can’t have life without The Lord!

I believe with my whole heart that the Lord has a plan for each of us and yes he gives us choices but that’s because he loves us so much. But, nonetheless, I will continually seek to choose life and go where the Lord leads me and I challenge you to do the same.

Choose life my friends. Choose life.

Love,

Kenzie
