Hello there everyone! I hope this finds you rested and well. I have a few things that I need to tell you guys!!
The first thing I want to cover is my lack of communication on here since being home. I apologize for not updating you guys sooner. I wanted to wait until i had the most information possible because as many of you know things are changing every day in our world. I am blown away by the constant support I receive from all of you. Truly, your kindness and encouragement in this season of transitioning home has been such a blessing. I cannot thank each of you enough.
The second thing I wanted to update you guys on is the current plan for this fall. If you read my last blog, you know that my plan this fall is to go back with the World Race as an Alumni team leader for 3 months. This still reigns true!! However, it is going to look different than i expected. I would like to take some time to give you the run down of what this next season now consists of.
This fall, more specifically august 24th, I will be getting on a one way flight to Georgia. I will be going to the Adventures in Missions (AIM) campus in gainesville, GA. Since Covid-19 has played a deciding factor in most things these days, we will not be able to launch internationally like we planned. If you remember correctly, I was supposed to launch with a new squad and lead them in Swaziland and South Africa for the first 3 months of their World Race journey. That is no longer happening due to international travel still being closed. About 2 months ago, AIM announced that they are moving forward with their contingency plan. That plan will be living in gainesville, GA. My role as an Alumni team leader wraps up in 3 months (about december), while the rest of the squad will continue on their race. Lord willing that they will get to launch internationally come January. My time in Georgia will contain a lot of the same things as it would have in Africa. There will be a big focus on leadership and discipleship training. We are hoping to get involved with the local community and participate in ministry. Something I know is that the Lord has huge things planned for this next season!! I am confident that He is in control, even when there are things changing constantly and nothing seems to look like it should, He has us. He has us STILL in the palm of His hand. It’s been a journey for me you guys. I have doubted and questioned so much in the past 4 months, however now I can confidently tell you that I am trusting the Lord.
The last thing that I want to talk to you guys about it is…yep! you guessed it! Fundraising!!! I am still fundraising for this fall. I need to raise $2,000 and I am almost HALF WAY. THANK YOU. It was originally supposed to be $3,000 but since my race was cut short in march due to covid we got $1,000 off! HOW COOL!! I would like to ask you to prayerfully consider donating to the move of God that is about to happen this fall. I am honored to be apart of what God is doing and will do through these 2020 gap year racers.
Here’s to trusting the Lord and giving Him my yes over and over again because it’s so worth it!!!
Please feel to reach out with any questions or if you just wanna catch up! I would love to hear from you!!!
THANK YOU.
with love & joy,
Leanna Murphy
