I’m going to be real transparent with you- I have been home for about four days now and I’m still trying to completely process training camp. It truly was quite the experience and Jesus really out did himself. So instead of trying to write you all these paragraphs that would be filled with grammatical errors because my mom is out of town and cannot correct my blog, I’ve decided to describe training camp to you and what I have learned in list form. So sit back and relax because this is going to be a good one.
.) Georgia has the biggest bugs I’ve ever seen. They are basically tiny dinosaurs and they have no problem sharing a tent with you.
.) If you want Jesus to move, He is going to move. If you want Jesus to speak, He is going to speak. But don’t ask for him to move and don’t ask him to speak if you aren’t ready to go and hear what He has to say.
.) Bucket showers. They will make you shrivel like a prune. Just a tip for future racers- rinse hair, wash body, put shampoo in hair, and then use left over water to get shampoo out. Also don‘t lean against the curtain or else your shower pals will be in for a real surprise. You can thank me later.
.) JESUS LOVES YOU. HE KNOWS THAT YOU ARE A SINNER, YET HE STILL CHOOSES YOU. HE KNOWS EVERY LITTLE THING YOUV’E DONE YET HE STILL CALLS YOU ANYWAYS.
.) 2.2 mile hikes. They are real and they are big. Pray about it. Fast over it. Get your friends to pray about it. Pee before you go. And tell yourself you can do it because you can do hard things.
.) Connaly. She’s my team’s fearless leader. She is also one of the wisest people I know. She literally rocks. And she is super cool and will make sure you are hydrated. I’m a big fan of her and can’t wait to do life with her. Also shoutout to the other team leaders Britney, Lexi, Annabelle and Emma. I’m a big fan of them too:)
.) Team Capable. This is my team‘s name because with God we are capable to do all things. My team consists of five other girls and let me tell you- these gals are WORLD CHANGERS. They put up with my nonsense and laugh at my jokes even though they aren’t that funny. They all bring different things to the table and I can’t even express how happy I am that I get to work alongside them.
.) Crickets. Eat one. It’ll change your life. Now I can’t say if it will be for better or for worse but just do it anyways.
.) I rededicated my life to Christ on the 9th day. It was insane, Jesus is insane. He is calling me to do some insane things. Stay tuned because I’m all in with Christ and when your all in with Him- He is all in with you and that’s when things get wild.
.) TENTS. Pray over the bottom of your tent and it will not flood hallelujah amen. Also tents get dirty and if you don’t want to bring it home or can’t fit it in your bag… I guess you can just throw it away like one of my squad mates did **COUGH COUGH MAY COUGH COUGH** or stuff it in your backpack and hope your step dad cleans it @myboyBrett
.) PRAYER. Don’t underestimate the power of prayer. It works. You have an issue? Pray about it. Don’t complain to your friend about it, just pray about it. Because God hears your prayers big or small. Example: I prayed for rain along with everyone else and their mother and we got to sleep inside because A WHOLE STORM WAS COMING. Needless to say- Jesus answers prayers.
.) Don’t challenge May or Alana to a dance battle. You will lose. Every time.
.) Intentional. Over the past two weeks I prayed and asked God what word he was speaking over me for the next year and the word was INTENTIONAL. Therefore this year, I plan to be intentional with not only my squad and my team but also the people around me and in these countries I’ll be ministering too. Feel free to keep me accountabl.
.) Jesus is not finished with you yet. He has called you to do some wild things for the Kingdom. Don’t ignore Him, just obey Him.
.) Last one. Are you ready???? Drum roll.
Squad W is the best squad. 10/10. This is common knowledge.
So that’s it y’all. Those are my thoughts about World Race training camp. I leave in about 7 weeks and still have about 5,000 left to fundraise so if you feel led to donate- you can donate at my blog (kyleighjowhite.theworldrace.org) OR Venmo me at KyleighJo-White. No donation is too small and prayer is also appreciated. I love y’all so much & cannot even began to express how thankful I am for all the support.:) Be sure to subscribe so you can get updates while I’m on the field!!
