The time has come to start fundraising for this adventure of a lifetime! You probably still have some questions about the World Race, so I was going to take the chance to give you more details about my trip and what your prayers and financial support are going towards. First off…
What is the World Race?
The World Race is one of many programs ran by Adventures In Missions (AIM) based in Gainesville, Georgia. AIM has sent over 110,000 people out into the world and 4,500 of those are World Racers! They have 1,150 partners in 80+ countries. At the base of all of this is their mission to share the love of Jesus and serve others! Christians from all denominations and from around the country come together with the goal of impacting lives around the world.
What is World Race Gap Year?
This is a modified version of the 11 countries in a 11 months for 21-35 year olds. Instead, I will be going to 3 continents in 9 months.
Where are you going?
While I am gone for 9 months, I will be spending time in Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Thailand!
What will you be doing?
Each day looks different on the World Race, but I could be doing anything from helping in orphanages, construction, helping in clinics, working with victims of sex trade, VBS camps, teaching English, evangelism outreach, or just praying with people on the street. The goal is to listen to God and go where he leads us! The girls on my route are strong and together we are a force for God and I believe he is going to do great things!
So, How much is this going to cost?
I need to raise $16,600 for my journey. It’s a daunting number, but I believe the Lord will provide and I am excited to see him work through this process.
One of the first fundraisers I am starting is with Threads of Hope! This is a wonderful organization with a great cause. Every product is unique and handmade by families in the Philippines. When you make a purchase, 50% of the money goes back to help these families have the opportunity to stay together, avoid exploitation, and pursue education and 50% goes towards my fundraising goal…it’s a win win! If you feel lead to at any time, you can make an additional donation and hit that donate button and help me reach my goal! If you want to keep up to date with everything going on, you can also subscribe and put your email on the list!
Have a spectacular week!
Kaya 🙂
