Hello friends! My name is Kaya Mullen and I am so excited to share about myself and this adventure I’ve been called to! I live in Staunton, Virginia a.k.a one of my favorite places in the world. I am so blessed to have grown up in a beautiful area that fills my time with what I love best- Going to coffee shops, hiking, shopping and reading. I love spending my days with friends and family! I come from a huge family filled with love and many cousins. I am 18 and the oldest of two brothers (Caleb and Caden) and a sister (Hannah). Some of my best memories are times spent with my cousins and friends, which will definitely be something I miss. I can’t wait to go on this journey, though, and gain so many more new friends and hopefully you’ll be one too! Ever since 6th grade when I gave my life to Jesus, I knew I wanted to lead a life of love. Having grown up in Bridge christian church, I have always had opportunities to serve in the church and the community. It grew my love for serving and missions. In 2016 I went on my first mission trip outside of the U.S.- Puerto Rico! I was blessed to go twice and experience the wonderful island and the culture that thrives there. That mission experience solidified the dream that I had always carried with me. I couldn’t wait to finally break free from the concrete walls of my school and change the world even if that meant changing the life of one person. I always knew I was not going to take the traditional route to college. When I found out about the World Race, I knew this was the path the Lord had been calling me to for so many years. When my world was spinning with the stress of college applications, scholarships, and FASFA, the World Race called out to me and filled me with a peace and reassurance that could not be shaken. I am so excited for this journey as I learn to trust God as he takes me out of my comfort zone and leads me to places I never imagined!
