Hi friends! A while back one of our leaders, Diana, gave a session about dreams. We went through a dream process with 5 steps. This was something that I thought was fun and it was something I wanted to share with you guys!
Step 1: dream inventory
We were asked to write down all the dreams we had. No matter how big or small. These are passions that the Lord has placed in my heart. Here are some of mine…
- Go to Australia
- See the northern lights
- Own a boat
- Be a mom
- Lead a mission trip
- Touch my foot to Antarctica
- See Mount Everest
- See the 7 wonders of the world
- Hike in all 5 of the national parks in UT
- Go to Africa
- Foster and adopt kids
- Go to all 50 states
- Lead high schoolers
Step 2: dreams come true
These are the dreams that have come true! Whether or not we’ve written them down, these are things that the Lord has done for me, passions He’s placed and has followed through with.
- Traveling!! The Lord brought me to Thailand, Malaysia, India and Costa Rica!
- Forgiveness!! There was a whole blog on that 😉
- My purpose!! The Lord has revealed a lot to me about my future and what he wants me to do in His kingdom and I’ll be honest it’s overwhelming but wow it’s cool
- Making my parents proud!! That speaks for itself. Love you guys.
Step 3: 12 month plan
We made a 12 month plan to keep our selves accountable and to set some goals to make our dreams a reality. In 2020 I will
- lead a mission trip
- Visit all 5 national parks
- Visit all 50 states
- See Mount Everest
- Lead high schoolers
- See 1 of the 7 wonders of the world
This doesn’t seem like too much, but some dreams I couldn’t share just yet but they will happen in 2020 and I can’t wait to share them.
Step 4: wows!
These are just testimonies of Gods goodness and faithfulness!
- I have lived in Thailand, Malaysia and India
- I have learned a lot about my future
- I graduated high school (ayooo)
- I lead middle schoolers at Wyldlife camp
- I found my identity in Christ, wholly and completely
- I was able to forgive!! Coolest thing!!
Step 5: themes
We broke down the inventory and wow categories and found the themes of them to reveal a mission statement for the next year.
Inventory: travel, leadership, family
Wows: God never fails. He loves us and will always without a doubt show up for His children.
Mission statement: Love God, Love People.
I want to love God and love people well and see the world that God has created.
This was a really fun activity that revealed a lot to me about passions I didn’t even know I had. I’m thankful that the Lord is so faithful and that He has called me to do bigger things than i could ever imagine. I want to encourage you guys to do the same and send them to me! I’d love to read about your passions and dreams and pray about them with you and for you!
Here’s a quick update: I’m still in India… lol that’s crazy to me. This has been the hardest country by far. When the Lord said He wanted to stretch me I had no idea how far. It’s been a crazy experience, something I’d never change for the world. The Lord and I have had many conversations about my character which is always fun and He is shaping me to be a powerhouse in His kingdom.
So thank you India!!
God is great. Tea is good. People are crazy.
Shoutout to Billy Currington
All my love always
