oooh y’all its getting close!! We launch in September and I am so so excited to meet everyone and get our life started!
The closer it gets, the more people start to ask me “why are you even going?” and folks, I’m here to tell you that answer.
There’s a billion reasons as to why I want to go! The scenery, the work, the fact I don’t have to go to school for a year, the fact I don’t have to drive anywhere, living on the go and not knowing what the next day will look like, I could go on and on!
All of these play a key role in my decision, but my main reason is Jesus.
I want to go and serve Jesus with all I have.
I’m teaching myself to fully commit to Him and listen to what he’s telling me and he’s sayin “yo Katie, let’s go across the world”
There was a period of time, not too long ago, when I didn’t think the world race was right for me. Let me tell ya that was a scary few days. I mean, it’s the end of senior year and all my friends are talking about college and who they’re rooming with and what they’re majoring in and guys I got really sad. I was so sad to be missing out on all of that stuff and I was thinking that maybe this wasn’t my calling. This was also during a time when fundraising wasn’t going well and I was stressing about school and getting all my gear for training camp and such, I was so overwhelmed with myself and my problems I just pushed Jesus off for a bit and wallowed in my stress.
After lots of praying and crying, the Lord kept reassuring me. I don’t know why I do that. I find myself pushing Jesus away and he always prevails and shows his power in remarkable ways. He’s provided the funds I need, the wonderful ladies on my squad that I get to talk to and learn from and all the support and love I’ve had.
HE. IS. SO. GOOD!!!
These next couple weeks are gonna fly by. This upcoming week, I’m taking my Wyldlife girls to camp in Oregon (please pray for us and our time there to be fulfilling and fun and for safety) and a week after that I have TRAINING CAMP WHOOP WHOOP!!
Training camp is going to be draining. Physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually draining.
But, I get to meet my squad and I’m so so excited to see all of their lovely faces and give them big big hugs.
I ask that y’all continue to pray for us. Pray for the people we’re going to be working with and serving. Pray for our hearts and that we stay focused on our mission and that we continue to build our community and make the most out of this opportunity.
I ask that you pray for our fundraising to continue to go well and that we’ll have all the funds we need when we need them.
Thank you all so so much for all the love and support!
I’m so ready for this new adventure to begin!
All my love always
Katie <3
