Dear Cambodia,
My month in Cambodia has quickly come to an end and I have conflicting emotions as I sit here and write about my time in this beautiful country. Some days felt long, some felt short, some filled with laughter and excitement, others filled with sadness. But no matter what type of day I was having it always ended better that expected. I will never forget the past month and I am truly better off because of it.
I will miss the beautiful banana trees, rice fields, and sun rises. I will miss all the wild dogs running around and the buffalo resting on the side of the road. I will miss teaching english classes and sitting underneath the shaded mango tree. I will miss the early morning walks and the late night card games. I will miss watching the precious kids laugh until they fall down. I will miss their bright smiles and intrigued stares. I will miss all the tickle fights and football games. I will miss Sunday afternoons spent doing laundry (having a giant water fight). I’m not sure I will miss the sweat and dirt but I sure will think about it a lot:) And I’ll probably even miss all the fried chicken and rice.
I am so blessed that I got to witness all these peoples incredible lives over the past month. I am forever thankful for all these experiences and everything I’ve learned. Thank you for opening my eyes to the beauty of this country and giving me stories I will never forget. I am so excited to see what the Lord has in store for me next!
I love you and I’ll see you later!
