Hello!! I wanted to give all of the faithful people in my life an update on fundraising. This past season of fundraising was a little more difficult than most. The reason being I was constantly comparing myself to the girls on my route and the girls on other routes. Comparison is one of the biggest issues I struggle with, unfortunately. Just when I think I have overcome it… the enemy uses it to attack. However, the current season I am in, I have been feeling ever so grateful and loved. I have been feeling more thankful than normal and seeing the Lord’s favor and steadfastness in so many ways. A friend told me the other day that she felt like the Lord was fixing to show His glory to me big time, and I really believe He is using fundraising to do that.

I have been reading the book, “The God Ask” by Steve Shadrack and it has given me a completely new perspective on fundraising. It speaks about how fundraising shouldn’t be intimidating. It simply is just asking God to provide. The Lord has given me a vision for ministry and fundraising is the opportunity to invite people into that vision with me. In Nehemiah 2, it talks about Nehemiah having to ask the wealthiest and most powerful man for funding for his Jerusalem restoration plan. But, when the time came to ask, Nehemiah first looked up to the One who really provides resources. And at the moment of truth, Nehemiah made The God Ask. And finally, in verse 4, it says, “Then the king said to me, “What are you requesting?” So, I prayed to the God of heaven.” It is reminding me that I don’t have to be fearful when asking people for money, or fearful that I won’t reach my goal. That I can be confident that the Lord is overseeing the whole process. This book has been the biggest encouragement to me, and the ladies on my route reminding me that I am giving people a chance to be part of furthering the kingdom of God.

My goal is to be FULLY FUNDED by the time of launch: which is September 7th! The deadline is January of 2020. But I do not want to put limitations on my God! And have been challenging myself to be completely full of faith that will happen.

So!! Fundraising activities that are taking place OR coming up!!

  1. Garage sale!! MARCH 23rd!!! I will be having a garage sale at Church on the Rock in Lubbock! The exact address is: 10503 Slide Rd. I am so blessed by them for allowing me to be a part of this garage sale. Set aside some time to stop by there and see me (and LOTS of others- come find some goodies!!). Also, a huge shout out to those who have graciously donated to the garage sale, and helping God use me to reach the nations.
  2. Adopt-a-box!! If any of you have been following me on this journey since day 1, you probably remember me announcing I was doing the Race with adopt-a-box. And, it was such a good way to start seeing the donations flow in and seeing God move. However, I still have a TON of boxes that need to be filled, so I am going to be continuing that! Check out the details either on my Facebook page or my dad’s! Brian Calaway + Karson Brynn Calaway
  3. Concert fundraiser! I think this is the coolest fundraiser yet. My brother’s girlfriend so generously offered in helping me put together a concert where her, my brother, and a few other artists will be playing! And showing us a good time!! We do not have all of the details figured out, but we are hoping to have it in April! I will keep you all updated on that!
  4. I am still selling my “World Race” sweatshirts through Bonfire!! I have had lots of success with those and I love that! They are $30 and there are multiple colors! Here is the link:: https://www.bonfire.com/world-racee/
  5. Lastly, I just wanted to say that ALL donations are so appreciated. I am so thankful for all of the people who have been supporting me in prayer, encouragement, and financially. It has been so cool to see the Lord move and learn what it means to be completely dependent on Him. So, thank you to everyone who has shown me their heart, and that you value and believe in me. Dang. The Lord is so good. And I am so grateful.
