Wow. I will be boarding my flight to Peru TODAY. In less than 8 hours. I truly cannot believe how fast time flew by!
As I think of how I’ve prepared for this day over the past year, I am overwhelmed by the amount of love and support I’ve received. Thank you so much to everyone who has constantly believed in me! I truly wouldn’t be able to do this without y’all.
I am also happy to say I managed to successfully pack everything {I think} I’ll need for the next eleven months. All after several stops at procrastination station of course. Who knew I could pack for eleven months in a whopping 39.5 pounds?! (excluding my 15 pound carry on, of course! But still, nonetheless, I’m a little proud—and thankful to my trusty packing buddy who helped calm my anxious nerves! Thank you honey <3)
Today is such a bittersweet day. These past couple of weeks I’ve said “goodbyes” and “see-you-soons” to some of the most important people in my life, which was and still is incredibly hard. I’ve shared too many tears, nervous laughs, and smiles to count. Today, I can’t imagine the incredible amount of sadness as I say goodbye to those closest to me. Needless to say, I’ll definitely be a tear-streaked mess as I meet my team in Florida!
It’s on my heart to write out a prayer and if you feel led, please pray with me—
Dear Lord,
Thank you for this amazing opportunity I am about to embark on. As I leave family, friends, and the comforts of my home I pray that you would give me strength, courage, and peace. I ask that all of those who love and support me would find joy in all of the good I hope to accomplish in your name. I pray that I would bring happiness and joy to all those around me in the days to come, and that I would be an example of your grace and goodness. Thank you for each and every day and for providing me with so many amazing people in my life—while saying goodbye is never easy, I am thankful to have so many wonderful, loving people surrounding and encouraging me no matter where I am. Thank you. I ask that you would provide my teammates and I with safe travels and an open heart as we pursue your plans for us Lord.
