Yesterday (Friday) looked a little different for us. We had the opportunity to go out and evangelize in a nearby village.
As we went out yesterday into the village I could feel a heaviness in talking to people, it reminded me a lot of the time I spent in South Asia. The darkness that was there is similar to here because of the religion and how satan has his hand here. People are respectful of what we believe and listen as you share but they are stuck in their religion, the religion of their generations and traditions. We went to the first house and I was able to share with a couple women and then as we moved on to the next house my team leader Oriolyne and my teammate Stephanie share with an older woman. We moved on from there and went to another house, this one we walked up some steep steps and went inside. As I walked inside I could see several people on one side of the house and a lady on the other side laying down on a mat. I went and sat down beside her, as I sat there I learned that she had a stroke 9 months ago and has been sick since. I sat there and we all prayed for her and she held my hand. It was such a sweet sweet moment. She looked directly at me and I began to massage her hand and then a few minutes later my team began to massage her legs and other hand to help with blood flow since she can’t walk or sit up. Through that as we were all just loving on her and serving her it was a sweet moment for me to just show this woman Jesus’ love. I left there feeling Jesus’ love even as I sat with this woman.
