So starting back up from where I left off for these updates. We finished debrief and were getting ready to finally head to our first ministry location as a team on Thursday. It was for the final two weeks from. Our host was a pastor and his family that have lived in Aodi, Taiwan for up to 15 years. This month was a month of me personally stepping into prompting of the Spirit, and trying to discover myself through spiritual gifts. This church really allowed us to step into areas that we weren’t necessarily familiar with us. When we first arrived we did a listing prayer to kinda pause and hear from God. For me, I heard the call to speak/preach. When I heard this I was like you sure Lord, I’m not very good at this type of stuff. Then he reconfirmed it when our Team Leader Leah looked at me and knew I heard something. So I waited until I was asked and when the moment came. It’s funny how sometimes God just makes things happened that you don’t think you’re ready for happening. So the next time we talked to our host he asked if someone would lead a sermon and that’s when I knew what the Lord was stepping me into this month. He was leading me to dig deeper into his word, search it, and discover so I can present it to those who needed it. This was something that actually helped me develop a better understanding of his word.

The two sermons that I spoke on were on adoption in Christ and how we have a new identity and we are not ruled by our old selves. When giving these talks I don’t know if it was something that was to see fruit or to gain the experience for myself. I do feel that I gained boldness from it. During these two weeks, we also got to play dodgeball with children, teach Genesis chapter 1, and even had one of our guys Baptized. We attended a prayer conference for regional pastors that saw two of our teams together and worshiping and praying for the direction of the country. I really just enjoyed these people and country, and our time went by to fast for me. I soon saw myself heading to the airport and meeting up with the rest of the squads. God didn’t stop doing work for me. I was able to meet one last person at the airport that just really solidified the great experience of this country. The people and God will be what brings me back. We all had experience in two weeks that shaped us and molded us for the remainder of this trip.

The next stop was Hong Kong. This was a week that saw us applying for visa’s, seeing Captain Marvel, fighting off cows and pigs, and meeting the king of Camping Jocko. Hong Kong is an extremely bustling city. The tall buildings are only a distraction to the problem of people not being able to afford living there. This leads us to find a free campsite. That unbeknownst to us we were going to have to fight off cows and wild boar’s. They would work in tandem. The pigs would move the heavy stuff and cows would crush it. This was the extent of how crafty our new enemies were. I even had a pig rip open my tent just for some coffee grounds. While the cows ate our apples and bread. So as you can see we had our hands full. Luckily, God showed up by providing us a family that at first laughed at our struggles but also provided us wisdom and dinners most nights. Jocko and his family have been camping/ living here for 5 years. This was his kingdom. He would invite us over all the time and provide me with a place to sleep after my tent suffered a late night attack. We stayed there until our visa’s processed and allowed us to take a train to China. Stay tuned for China and Mongolia.
